New program registration information will be released soon.

Access Connections offers ongoing registration, so there is no single intake date to wait for. Get in touch any time to talk about what you are looking for, and we will share the new registration details as soon as they are released.

A flexible, person-centered program

Access Connections is ACS’s fee-for-service program for adults with developmental disabilities, and people from the wider community are warmly welcome to take part.

There is no timetable to fit yourself into. Programming is built around a set of pillars, and each person chooses what they want more of — friendship, being out in the community, learning something new, or simply having a great time.

What programming is built around

  • Social opportunities and relationships — meeting people, making friends and spending real time together.
  • Community connections and participation — getting out, taking part and being known across Northumberland County.
  • Skill development — practical, everyday skills that open up more independence and more choice.
  • Personal development — confidence, self-expression, well-being and following personal interests.
  • Fun, recreation and meaningful experiences — the outings, celebrations and ordinary good days that make a life full.
