Volunteer With Access

Volunteering at Access runs both ways, and inclusion grows in both directions. Community members bring time, skills and friendship — and people supported by Access volunteer and contribute in their community too.

Volunteer with ACS

Community members are welcome to volunteer alongside Access. Volunteers help make community life richer and more inclusive for everyone, and we will find a role that fits the strengths, interests and time you have to offer.

  • Share a skill, hobby or interest with a group
  • Lend a hand with recreation, outings and celebrations
  • Help out at the office or with a specific project
  • Offer your professional expertise to a committee

Volunteer at our events and initiatives

Our events only happen because people show up for them. Volunteers are needed for set-up, welcoming and registration, running activities, and helping the day go smoothly — including at the ACS Golf Tournament.

Volunteering by people supported by Access

Contribution is not a one-way street. People supported by Access volunteer in Northumberland County too — because everyone has something to offer, and because meaningful roles build confidence, relationships and a real place in community life.

We work with each person to find volunteer roles that match their strengths and interests, and we partner with local organizations that welcome them.

  • Meaningful roles chosen by the person, not assigned to them
  • Strengths and interests first
  • Real participation in community organizations and events
  • Recognition for the contribution people make
